I am a senior FWO postdoctoral fellow at the University of Leuven, Belgium.
My research focuses on Kant's theoretical philosophy and its historical context. My first book, on Kant's Opus postumum, has recently been published by Cambridge University Press.
I am currently working on a series of articles on the concept of force and a larger project on Kant's critique of rational cosmology. My wider research and teaching interests include the relationship between metaphysics and natural philosophy in the early modern period, and the legacies of Kantian philosophy in the nineteenth and twentieth century.
Recent articles include:
"Kant on Limits, Boundaries, and the Positive Function of Ideas" (European Journal of Philosophy)
"From the Boundary of the World to the Boundary of Reason: The First Antinomy and the Development of Kant’s Critical Philosophy" (HOPOS)
"Kant on the Fundamental Forces of Matter: Why Attraction and Repulsion?" (Kantian Review)
My work is funded by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO).
