WHO AM I

I am a 45-year-old women. I am married. I am originally from Northern Ontario. I have two boys my oldest son Johnathan is 5 years old and my youngest son Anders is 4 years old and we all live in Glaslyn Sask. with my husband Jason. All of my life I have worked with children and teenagers. I have been everything from a Camp Counselor for 15 years at Circle Square Ranch in Severn Bridge Ontario, an Educational Assistant for the First Nations students and non- First Nation students in my home town of Matheson, Ontario. I was hired by the Band Office to work with there students, high school students and three years working with a First Nations autistic boy on the reserve site, and a Substitute Teacher to finish off the year for a Grade 5 class due to unfortunate circumstances. I have been a children's pastor, youth pastor and I worked in a school library in Glaslyn, Saskatchewan as one of the library technicians I also would substitute as an Educational Assistant on my days off. I look forward to helping children feel important and smart as they learn.

Career plans:

I would like to find a job as a Kindergarten to Grade 5 teacher or work with English as a Second Language students in the Battleford / North Battleford area or in the Spiritwood area where I am currently living.

What I am passionate about?

I am passionate about family and friends and helping others.

I am passionate about making sure that my sons get the best education they can get.

I am also passionate about making sure that all children are treated with the same respect no matter their race, beliefs, abilities or class.

Why I want to be a teacher?

I love to work with children and watch them learn. I enjoying helping children discover new ways of learning and the joy you can see in their eyes when they catch on how to do whatever it is, they are being taught.
