Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, Fold 7, and Tri-Fold Availability Leaked
Published: Jun 27, 2025, 7:31 AM
Samsung is set to reveal its new Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 foldable smartphones next month, possibly alongside a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. These devices are expected to be available shortly after their announcement, while the tri-fold model—likely named Galaxy G Fold—will be released later in the year.
Availability of Flip 7 and Fold 7
As per a recent report, the Galaxy Flip 7 and Fold 7 are slated to hit the market in August, roughly a month after their official unveiling. Samsung will host a Galaxy Unpacked event in New York City on July 9 to showcase these devices. While the Flip 7 FE isn’t explicitly mentioned in the leak, it is anticipated to also launch in August following its July announcement. Samsung has touted this as its most advanced foldable yet, and early leaks suggest that the Fold 7 will significantly outshine its predecessor.
Tri-Fold Availability
The tri-fold device, which will have a limited release in select markets, is also expected to be unveiled in July alongside the Flip 7 and Fold 7. Although a specific release date hasn’t been confirmed, the report suggests this model could become available in October. This aligns with Samsung’s strategy to launch it shortly after the other foldables, with a potential wider rollout depending on its initial sales performance. Initially, only around 200,000 units of the G Fold will be produced, as Samsung has conservative sales expectations due to its higher price point.
Samsung’s Opportunity
Current reports indicate that the Fold 7 is set to make significant advancements over the previous model. The only downside noted is the battery, which is expected to remain at 4,400 mAh, the same as the Fold 6, and it will charge at 25W, a somewhat lackluster feature that could use an upgrade. Given the competition from devices like the Oppo Find N5 and Honor Magic V5, it’s essential for Samsung to keep pace.
With a commitment to long-term software support (seven years) and the popularity of One UI, Samsung may have a strong contender on its hands. The Fold 7 could potentially revitalize interest in the foldable market, though that remains to be seen. While the Find N5 and Magic V5 may still be the top choices for cutting-edge foldables, if software support is a priority, the Fold 7 or G Fold could be your best options.
