The highly anticipated OnePlus 15 is just hours away from its unveiling on Monday, October 27. It’s poised to be one of the top contenders in the smartphone market today.

Thanks to detailed leaks and insider insights, we already have a glimpse of what to expect: a massive 7,300 mAh battery, a vibrant display, and an impressive camera setup, among other features.

More affordable than its predecessor? 

The OnePlus 15 may be priced lower than the OnePlus 13. Recent leaks indicate that the high-end model (with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage) might retail for around £949 (~$1,265). While the price of the base 256 GB model is still unknown, it could also see a reduction. With anticipated upgrades, this model could compete directly with Samsung, Google, and Apple flagship phones. If the price drop is confirmed, OnePlus could gain a significant edge in the premium smartphone segment. 

Impressive telephoto camera 

Though not primarily a camera phone, the OnePlus 15 is expected to feature a robust rear camera setup:

• 50 MP main

• 50 MP ultra-wide

• 50 MP telephoto

The telephoto lens is anticipated to offer an 85 mm equivalent focal length, making it particularly useful for portrait shots. Notably, this will be the first OnePlus model in years without a camera developed in collaboration with Hasselblad, introducing a new imaging engine instead. 

Advanced cooling system for gamers

OnePlus is generating excitement for the OnePlus 15 by emphasizing its innovative performance and cooling enhancements. The device will incorporate a new Glacier cooling system, featuring ultra-thin steel, custom chip-cooling architecture, and a space-grade aerogel layer to keep both the device and users comfortable during gaming sessions. For gamers, it introduces a “Gaming Hand Cooling Model” that targets ten heat zones, alongside a G2 gaming network chip for improved connectivity and a console-grade gyroscope for precise controls. These features aim to maintain high performance even under demanding conditions, though real-world results are yet to be seen.

Massive 7,300 mAh battery with rapid charging

The OnePlus 15 is set to include an impressive 7,300 mAh battery, a notable upgrade from the 6,000 mAh battery in the OnePlus 13. Charging speeds will also be remarkable, with support for 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, although peak speeds require OnePlus' specific charger and cable. Even with third-party accessories, the charging performance is expected to outperform that of Samsung and Apple flagship devices, ensuring quick recharges for heavy users.

Brighter, longer-lasting display

OnePlus has announced that the OnePlus 15 will feature a 165Hz display. The BOE-made panel boasts a 13% increase in HBM brightness compared to the OnePlus 13, utilizes 10% less power, and promises a 30% longer lifespan. A dedicated OPPO Display P3 co-processor will manage frame rendering, color accuracy, and stable brightness, while bezels will be reduced to 1.15 mm on all sides. The display can also dim to 1 nit, which is half the minimum brightness of the OnePlus 13, although some display downgrades remain unconfirmed.

Durable and robust design

The OnePlus 15 is expected to feature a chassis made from aerospace-grade nano-ceramic metal, which OnePlus claims is 134% harder than titanium, 223% harder than stainless steel, and 344% tougher than anodized aluminum. These specifications underscore the brand's commitment to creating one of the most durable flagship smartphones available.

Premium experience guaranteed

The OnePlus 15 is anticipated to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, manufactured on TSMC's advanced 3nm process for optimal performance and efficiency. The Oryon CPU cores can reach up to 4.6GHz, delivering a 20% performance boost and 35% improved efficiency, while the GPU is 23% faster and 20% more efficient, fully supporting Unreal Engine 5. The chipset also introduces advancements in video capabilities, including near-lossless recording, Dragon Fusion computational video processing, and enhanced audio capture, positioning the OnePlus 15 as a true flagship for creators.
