Next year, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature a camera upgrade, which is reportedly why the phone will be bringing back a rear camera island. A new report has emerged, confirming earlier leaks about an upgrade for the iPhone 18’s camera that outshines the S26 Ultra.

iPhone 18 to Feature a Variable Aperture

The iPhone 18 Pro's main camera will include a variable aperture feature. Naturally, the iPhone 18 Pro Max will also benefit from this innovation. Currently, very few smartphones offer variable apertures. Samsung previously introduced this feature with the Galaxy S9 and S10, but eliminated it with the Galaxy S20, likely due to higher production costs.

Why a Variable Aperture is a Game-Changer

A variable aperture camera allows users to control the amount of light hitting the sensor, providing greater creative and professional flexibility in photography. This feature enhances performance in varying lighting conditions and enables iPhone 18 users to explore different photography styles.
