Isn't it curious that Samsung is releasing accessories for features not available on any Galaxy phone? Yet, that's exactly what’s happening. The Pixel 10 series was the first to adopt Qi2 wireless charging, which supports magnetic charging. Notably, only the Pixel 10 Pro XL utilizes the latest Qi 2.2 standard, while the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold rely on the older Qi 2.0 standard from 2023.
Despite not integrating Qi2 or later in its Galaxy devices—like the recently launched Galaxy S25 series—Samsung's online store now features a Qi2-enabled wireless charger that supports the Qi2.0 standard. However, as noted in a footnote, the charger "Requires a Qi-compatible device, a Qi2.0-certified magnetic case for the phone, and a 25W power adapter (sold separately). Fast Wireless Charging requires a Fast Charging compatible device; performance may vary based on battery level and other factors."
Unlike the new Pixel 10 series, which has magnets built into the back panels, Galaxy S25 users will need a magnetic case to utilize the Qi2 wireless charger. The magnetic wireless charger, called the Single Wireless Charger, resembles a black puck attached to a cable and is priced at $34.99. You also have the option to pay in four installments of $8.75 every two weeks.
Another Qi2 wireless charger available is the Car Wireless Charger, featuring a black, round charging disc designed to mount on your vehicle's air vent. The footnote for this accessory states, "Requires a Qi2.0-compatible device or Qi-compatible device with a Qi2.0-certified magnetic case, and the vehicle must provide a 12V auxiliary power outlet." The magnet is strong enough to keep your phone secure while driving over bumps or turns.
The Car Wireless Charger is priced at $84.99, with options to pay in 12 monthly installments of $7.08 or four payments of $21.25 every two weeks. Samsung emphasizes, "Designed to minimize heat generation, this charger is a safe and convenient option for charging on the go in your car."
To use the Single Wireless Charger with the Galaxy S25, you’ll need a Qi2 magnetic wireless charging case, available for $29.99 or four payments of $7.50 every two weeks. The clear Qi2 magnet wireless charging case for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is priced higher at $54.99, with payment options of 12 monthly installments of $4.58 or four payments of $13.75 every two weeks.
Remember, Samsung requires that the wireless magnetic chargers be paired with a separately purchased 25W power adapter. The U.S. online store offers a 25W Power Delivery (PD) adapter in black or white, complete with a USB-C cable, priced at $34.99. You can also choose to pay in four installments of $8.75 every two weeks.
Regarding the upcoming Galaxy S26 line, a rumor from June suggested that the Galaxy S26 Ultra might eliminate the digitizer for the S Pen to make room for internal magnets. This change wouldn’t eliminate S Pen support, as speculation suggests Samsung is developing a new technology that would enable the S Pen to function without the digitizer. This is a prime example of how Galaxy fans might get the best of both worlds.
