1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how stemixer (“the App,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use our Android application. The App provides on-device audio stem separation, multitrack mixing, live microphone monitoring, and related music practice and performance features.
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Process
2.1 Information you provide
Audio files and URLs you import (local files or links from supported sources such as YouTube and other media URLs)
Mixer settings (stem volumes, BPM, key, presets, export preferences)
Terms of Service acceptance and onboarding completion status
2.2 Information collected automatically on your device
App preferences stored locally (settings, library metadata, playback session)
Temporary cache files created during separation, mixing, and export
Device and app information needed for core functionality (e.g., audio routing, storage paths)
2.3 Microphone data
If you enable the microphone feature, the App accesses microphone input only while the feature is active to mix your voice with playback. Microphone audio is processed for real-time monitoring and mixing. We do not intentionally upload your microphone recordings to our servers.
2.4 Advertising data (planned — Google AdMob)
We plan to show ads through Google AdMob. When ads are enabled, Google may collect and process information such as:
Advertising ID (AAID)
IP address
Device type, OS version, language
Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
Approximate location (derived from IP)
This data is collected and processed by Google under its policies:
You can limit ad personalization in your device settings (Google → Ads).
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
Separate audio into stems and play/mix tracks
Save your library and restore mixer sessions
Run background separation and playback (with notifications, if permitted)
Improve stability and performance on your device
Display advertisements (when AdMob is integrated)
Comply with legal obligations
4. On-Device Processing
Stem separation, BPM/key analysis, and most audio processing run on your device. Your imported audio and separated stems are stored in the App’s private storage unless you export them.
5. Network Use
The App may use the internet to:
Import audio from URLs you submit
Load album art/thumbnails
Download or update components required for URL extraction (where applicable)
Serve and measure advertisements (AdMob)
We do not sell your personal audio content.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share limited data with:
Google (AdMob) — for advertising and measurement (when enabled)
Service providers / SDKs that help the App function (e.g., network libraries, image loading), only as needed for those features
Authorities when required by law
Audio you import is not shared with advertisers.
7. Data Retention
Library and separated files: kept on your device until you delete them in the App or uninstall the App
Cache: may be cleared from Settings or automatically during cleanup
Ad-related data: retained per Google’s policies
8. Your Choices and Rights
Because the App does not require an account, you can:
Delete songs/library items inside the App
Clear cache in Settings
Uninstall the App to remove locally stored data
Manage ad personalization in Android system settings

10. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect data on your device. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
11. International Users
If you use the App outside your home country, your information may be processed on your device and by third parties (such as Google) according to their policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
