Join us to learn about the value of digital journaling with your students, for personal or content learning reflections. We will introduce you to 3 possible tools for digital journaling: Microsoft Sway, Google Slides, and Google Sites. We will share examples that will be relevant for students K-12.

District Technology Coach, Balsz Elementary School District
Lindsey McCaleb is a member of the AzTEA Professional Learning Committee and is currently the District Technology Coach for the Balsz School District. She has been an educator for 11 years, starting her career on the Navajo Reservation. She taught in the Creighton School District, following her Principal Internship. She holds a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from ASU.
She also has experience and training as a Flipped teacher with Kindergarten & 1st Grade, effectively integrating technology into instruction for the purpose of enhancing and extending student learning. Her current role as Technology Coach has put her in a position to develop remote learning plans, train staff, students, and parents, and continue to work on plans for the fall.
ASTA Region IV West Director
6th-8th Grade Science Teacher, Liberty Elementary School District
Joni Sheesley is the Region IV West Director (602/623 area codes) for ASTA, Arizona Science Teachers Association. She is an Arizona native and has been an educator in Arizona for 15 years. She has taught High School Biology for 7 years in Peoria Unified School District, and middle school science, 6th-8th grades for 8 years in Liberty Elementary School District. She holds a Master’s degree in Secondary Education Science Teaching and a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Zoology, both from Northern Arizona University. She is a lead curriculum developer and PD facilitator for science in her district. Her school is an authorized International Baccalaureate PYP and MYP campus where she currently teaches IB Science and IB Design courses to all 6th-8th graders.
Joni is also a head coach for her school’s long standing Science Olympiad teams and her campus hosts the Arizona North-Central Regional Tournament where she is the Tournament Director. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her 3 boys, (Gavin 10, Dylan 7, and Jaxon 3.) They love to swim, are on club soccer teams and involved in Cub Scouts.
