Hello, I'm Susan Mahood. I am the STEM teacher at Central Elementary School. I love teaching, creating, and learning! This is my 31st year teaching here in Rockbridge County. I have taught kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grades, as well as elementary and middle school STEM. I worked for 7 years as an instructional technology resource teacher for other teachers. I have a MAED in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in technology.

My husband and I have 4 children. My oldest daughter was born with severe and profound special needs. She earned her angel wings 11 years ago but remains in my heart. She taught me so much about patience, learning and unconditional love. My son, a computer geek like me, is starting his college career this year through Christopher Newport University. My twin daughters are learning to drive and entering their junior year at Rockbridge County High School.
