I am a researcher with a multidisciplinary focus on health, development, labor, and political economy. My work leverages fine-grained, large-scale microdata to generate comprehensive yet accessible insights that inform and improve policy.
Currently, I work as a postdoc at the Bernhard-Nocht-Institute in Hamburg, where I contribute to academic and policy research on health policies in the Global South. My current projects include empirically evaluating the effectiveness of national policies aimed at achieving key SDG targets, such as reducing violence against women and tobacco use, investigating trends in authorship and inclusiveness within the public health literature, and assessing the impact of a major governmental health intervention in Brazil on both population health and electoral outcomes.
Previously, I worked with the KfW Development Bank and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Brazil, and as a research assistant at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA).
