Stefano Serpente

My math interests:

I am interested in Combinatorial and Tropical Methods applied to classical Algebraic Geometry, and what are the relation between. In particular, I like to study Moduli spaces of Algebraic Curves and their properties using the duality with Tropical Curves, and more in general how we can use combinatorial objects (as graphs) to study Algebro - Geometric problems.

Current Position:

Ph.D student in Mathematics at "Dipartimento di Matematica e Fisica, Sezione Matematica, Università degli Studi Roma 3", Rome, Italy. Part of my Ph.D was done in Brown University. My co-supervisors are Margarida Melo (Roma 3) and Melody Chan (Brown) , and my final Thesis title will be "Moduli spaces of Algebraic and Tropical Curves with Hassett stability conditions".

About Me: I'm an Italian mathematician, I took my Bachelor Degree in 2017 and my Master Degree in 2019 both in "Università Roma 3" in Rome and currently I am a Ph.D. Student still in "Università Roma 3" in the math Department. Other than a mathematician, I'm a Boy Scout chief in Italy and I love hanging out in the nature. In my free time, I also love to play sports, mostly Basketball (even if I'm not that tall) and Football (Soccer for American friends!), or spend some time in TV series, Videogames, Animes and comics.
