I am an economist by training. As a lecturer in economics and business education, I support students in understanding macroeconomics, international trade, and corporate strategy in a global business environment.

Since October 2022, I serve as Head of Tax & Trade Policy at the IFF Institute.

Together with colleagues, I have been working on various projects concerning Swiss foreign trade policy. In addition, I serve as a Global Future Council Fellow at the World Economic Forum, a Member of the Sino-Swiss Competence Center at the University of St.Gallen and a Founding Partner at trendEcon.

Research that I worked on has been published in, for example, the Economic Journal or the European Economic Review. My commentary on current events was featured in the BBC, Financial Times, Guardian, New York Times, NZZ, SRF, SPIEGEL, The Banker, or ZEIT.

In late 2021, I launched the European Inflation Tracker and in early 2022 the Current Economic Development index.

My joint book with Steffen Löhr on European football, german title "Der Fussball braucht mehr Geld oder andere Regeln", was published in the summer of 2022.

My introductory macroeconomics book, german title "Einführung in die Makroökonomik", was published in early 2023.
