Simple TikTok Downloader is a Chrome extension that adds a download button to publicly accessible TikTok videos. A download is initiated only when the user clicks the download button.
2. Information Processed
To provide its core functionality, the extension temporarily processes information from the TikTok page currently being viewed, including:
- The current TikTok page URL
- Video ID
- Creator username
- Video description
- Video playback or download URL
This information is processed locally on the user's device and is used only to identify and download the video selected by the user.
3. Data Collection and Storage
The developer does not collect, receive, or store personal information, browsing history, TikTok page information, or video metadata.
Video information may be held temporarily in browser memory while the TikTok page is open or while a download is in progress. It is not retained by the extension after it is no longer needed.
Downloaded files and Chrome download history are managed by the user's Chrome browser.
4. Data Transmission
The extension does not transmit user data to the developer or to any developer-operated server.
When the user requests a download, the browser connects directly to TikTok or a TikTok content delivery network over HTTPS to retrieve the selected video.
5. Data Sharing and Sale
The developer does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data to third parties. User data is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, credit assessment, or purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
6. Permissions
The extension uses access to TikTok domains only to identify the video currently displayed and show the download button.
The Chrome downloads permission is used only to save a video after the user explicitly clicks the download button.
7. Remote Code
The extension does not download or execute remotely hosted code. All executable code is included in the extension package distributed through the Chrome Web Store.
8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The extension's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
