Sinton Anderson House

1924

628 N 2nd Ave.

Emlyn (Lynn) Fox Sinton was born in Campton Township on August 12, 1880. His parents were Campton Township farmers. Lynn Sinton married Henrietta Johnston in Chicago in 1902. Their daughter, Jean, was born in 1915. By 1920, Lynn Sinton was the proprietor of a sporting goods store in St. Charles.

Sinton built this Colonial Revival style house in about 1924, but is said to have lost his fortune and the ownership of the house as a result of financial losses during the Great Depression. In the 1930 U.S. Federal Census, Sinton's occupation is listed as News Dealer.

Richard Anderson, the owner and operator of the St. Charles Paddlewheel Riverboats purchased the house in 1986.
