Andresen Cottage - 1921
70 Horne St.
This charming bungalow is known as the historic Andresen Cottage and was built in 1920. This home is a Craftsman Bungalow style built in 1921 by Thomas Burke for August and Kathryn Andresen. This home embodies several Craftsman elements. Some of the key architectural elements are the deep open front porch that extends the full width of the front of the home and features a recessed stairway at the side of the porch rather than a protruding stairway centered on the porch, a "Chicago" style bay window on the second floor dormer on the south facade, the windows are symmetrically grouped and are three over one or four over one divided lights, the eaves substantially overhang and are finished with bead board and exposed rafters tails.
