"Communication Sysyem Design"

Department of Electronics and Communication, NIT Srinagar, is organizing a national 5-days short term course on "Communication System Design".
Objective of Course
The revolution of communication systems has tremendously changed the daily lives. Cellular systems, WiFi, Internet, Radio & TV broadcasting and now Internet of Things (IoT) are some of the key technologies which enabled this change. The focus of this STC will be the basic design aspects of communication systems. This course will also have lectures on the modern communication system design, wherein the topics ranging from MIMO, Physical Layer Security, Antenna design for 5G systems will be covered. This course will also have sessions on next generation communication system design, like Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces, proposed for 6G communication systems. There will be hands on session on USRP device, MATLAB, ADS Simulator for RF design, CST Simulator for Antenna design.
About the Institute
National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar was established in the year 1960 as Regional Engineering College (REC) by Government of India during the first Five Year Plan (1956–61). It was given the status of National Institute of Technology in the year 2002, and functions under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource development (MHRD), Government of India. As an Institute of National Importance, it imparts high quality technical education in Engineering, Technology and Science to produce competent technical manpower for the country.
The institute is located on the western bank of the world heritage site, Dal Lake near the Hazratbal Shrine in the north eastern region of the Srinagar city. The institute is located 23 km from the Srinagar International Airport and 13 km from Srinagar railway station.
About the Department
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in 1984 and offers B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, M.Tech in Microelectronics (ME) and M.Tech in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The Department also offers the Doctoral programmes in the field of Biometrics, Communication, Microelectronics, Signal/Image Processing, Machine learning, network security and VLSI Design. The department has established state-of-art laboratories with sophisticated equipments for undergraduate, post graduate and PhD research work. The department is equipped with contemporary laboratory equipments required for the excellent growth of students. The department has state of art labs including VLSI Lab, Optical fiber communication Lab, Image Processing Lab, Information and Network Security Lab, Biometric Lab and machine learning lab.
