My name is Srdjan Stavrić (name pronounced like "surgeon"), and I’m a Senior Research Associate at the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences in Belgrade, Serbia. I earned my PhD in Physics in 2019 from the University of Belgrade, where I worked with Dr. Željko Šljivančanin on first-principles modeling of metal adsorption on 2D materials.
After my PhD, I moved to Italy for postdoctoral research—first at the University of Trieste with Prof. Maria Peressi, studying cobalt clusters on graphene/nickel for catalysis (2020–2022), and later at CNR-SPIN in Chieti with Dr. Silvia Picozzi, where I shifted focus to 2D magnets and multiferroics (2022–2024).
In 2024, I returned to Belgrade to settle permanently and continue my work in computational condensed matter physics and materials science. When I’m not modeling materials, you might find me singing in my rock’n’roll band, Tilted—because science and music both need passion (and a little distortion).
