If you want heavy-duty protection for your Status Audio Between 3ANC earbuds with a built-in lanyard, choose Status Audio Silicone Protective; if you need a vibrant, personalized look that fits any AirPods model without blocking charging or sound, choose RockMax Leopard Print Skin.
• Status Audio Silicone Protective: The standout strength is its dedicated form factor designed specifically to shield the charging case from scratches while keeping the battery display visible and offering a convenient lanyard attachment; however, it is strictly limited to one specific device model and offers no style customization beyond the black onyx finish. This pick is for the practical user who wants their specific Status Audio gear to survive daily drops and needs a secure way to carry the case.
• RockMax Leopard Print Skin: The biggest advantage is its universal compatibility across all generations of AirPods, allowing for immediate personalization with a bold animal print pattern that makes the device instantly recognizable in a crowd; the trade-off is that it is a thin adhesive layer rather than a structural cover, meaning it protects against cosmetic wear but not impact damage. This pick is for the style-conscious buyer with any generation of Apple earbuds who wants to express their personality and ensure they never grab the wrong pair at the gym or office.
The Status Audio Silicone Protective Case Cover is engineered for a very specific audience: owners of the Status Audio Between 3ANC Active Noise Cancelling Wireless Earbuds who prioritize durability over aesthetics. Unlike generic covers that might fit loosely, this unit is molded specifically to the contours of the Between 3ANC case. Its primary function is heavy-duty protection; the soft silicone enclosure acts as a buffer against the inevitable bumps, scrapes, and falls that happen when you toss your gear into a backpack or drop it on pavement. If you are looking for a gaming headset for big ears that also demands rugged accessories, this cover ensures the case itself remains pristine even after rough handling.
One of the most functional aspects of this design is how it balances protection with utility. The material is formulated to be soft yet durable, ensuring it doesn't add excessive bulk while still shielding the hard plastic shell underneath. Crucially, the design allows you to see the battery charge status display through the silicone, so you never have to remove the cover to check how much power is left in your buds. It also includes an attachable lanyard, which solves a common problem where small cases get lost or dropped during transit. You can clip this onto a bag strap or belt loop, adding a layer of security that standard cases lack.
However, this product is not for everyone. It is exclusively compatible with the Status Audio Between 3ANC models. If you own the older versions or a different brand entirely, this cover will simply not work. Furthermore, it comes only in Onyx Black with a patterned texture that leans towards a utilitarian aesthetic rather than a fashion statement. If you are searching for the best hi res gaming headset for big ears and plan to switch between different brands or upgrade your earbuds frequently, investing in a single-model cover limits your flexibility. This is a tool for the owner of a specific device who wants to extend its lifespan and keep it tethered to their person, not for someone looking to change up their look every few months.

The RockMax Leopard Print Skin Set is designed for the Apple ecosystem user who wants to make a visual statement without sacrificing functionality. Whether you have the original AirPods, the latest Pro 3, or anything in between, this set claims a universal fit that eliminates the guesswork of finding the right size. The core value here is personalization; the bright leopard print transforms a generic white charging case and earbuds into a unique accessory that stands out immediately. In a shared workspace, school cafeteria, or crowded gym, this high-contrast animal print ensures you can spot your gear at a glance, solving the perennial problem of mixing up identical devices with friends or colleagues.
What sets this apart from simple stickers is the completeness of the kit. It includes skins for both the charging case and the individual earbuds (left, right, plus a spare), creating a seamless, coordinated look. The material is described as water-resistant, which adds a layer of defense against sweat and minor spills—a crucial feature for active users. The application process is supported by a dedicated applicator tool included in the box, which helps align the vinyl perfectly and smooths out air bubbles for a professional finish. If you are wearing with mic headphones for big ears and need to keep your audio setup distinct and identifiable, this skin provides that distinction without adding physical bulk or weight to the earbuds themselves.
It is important to understand what this product is not: it is not a protective case. While it shields the surface from light scratches and scuffs, it does not offer the shock absorption of a silicone bumper. If you tend to drop your AirPods repeatedly, a skin alone won't save the internal electronics from impact damage. Additionally, because it is a "tattoo" style application, it is removable and residue-free, which is great for changing designs later, but it requires a careful application process compared to slipping a case on. This is the ideal choice for someone who already has a sturdy case or prefers the slim profile of bare earbuds but refuses to let them look boring or easily lost.
• Best for Impact Protection → Status Audio Silicone Protective: The thick silicone material is designed to absorb shocks and protect the case structure, whereas the RockMax skin is purely cosmetic and scratch-resistant.
• Best for Universal Compatibility → RockMax Leopard Print Skin: One set works for all AirPods generations (1 through 4 and Pro series), while the Status Audio cover only fits the Between 3ANC model.
• Best for Portability Features → Status Audio Silicone Protective: The included lanyard allows you to clip the case to your bag, a feature the RockMax skin cannot provide.
• Best for Visual Identity → RockMax Leopard Print Skin: The bold animal print makes the device instantly recognizable, unlike the subtle, monochromatic black of the Status Audio cover.
• Best for Battery Visibility → Status Audio Silicone Protective: The design specifically leaves the LED charge display fully visible without obstruction.
• Best for Sweat Resistance → RockMax Leopard Print Skin: The polyethylene terephthalate material is explicitly water-resistant, making it better suited for intense workouts than the non-water-resistant silicone.
• Best for Ease of Application → RockMax Leopard Print Skin: Includes a specialized applicator tool for precise alignment, whereas the Status Audio option requires no installation, just fitting.
• Best for Bulk Reduction → RockMax Leopard Print Skin: Adds virtually zero thickness, preserving the original slim profile of the earbuds, while the silicone cover adds a noticeable layer of volume.
In my opinion, I would choose the RockMax Leopard Print Skin for the average consumer because the universal fit and ability to personalize make it a more versatile investment. Most people own various iterations of Apple earbuds over time, and having a skin that works across all generations saves money and hassle. However, if you are specifically hunting for a gaming headset for big ears setup involving the Status Audio Between 3ANC and you need a rugged, drop-proof solution with a lanyard, the Status Audio Silicone Protective is the only logical choice. For me, the decision ultimately comes down to whether I value structural safety or style versatility more, but for the broadest appeal, the RockMax skin wins on adaptability.
No, the design is engineered to allow the battery charge status display to remain clearly visible through the silicone material, so you do not need to remove the cover to check your power levels.
According to the product specifications, the skin is precisely designed to fit without interfering with charging, pairing, or sound quality, ensuring your AirPods function exactly as they did before application.
Currently, the RockMax skins are specifically designed to fit all Apple AirPods models, including the 1, 2, 3, 4, and Pro series; they are not compatible with other brands of earbuds at this time.
