Statistics training for a small group of students

Learn statistics through practical exercises

A 3-day live training taught by Dr. biol., senior data analyst Maksims Zolovs

Who should register?

This training is developed for students who are not familiar with statistical tests, does not want to learn programming languages (R or Python) and study a lot of specific literature, but need to understand how to test the hypothesis, which statistical test best fits your data, how to interpret and present results. Absolutely no experience is required. We will start from the basics and gradually build up your knowledge!

What makes this training different from the rest of the Statistics courses online?

We are offering this training as a 3-day workshop. Each day will consist of a 4-hour live lecture held via the free video-conferencing software. You will obtain knowledge and skills in a small working group (from 4 to 6 students maximum). It means that you will gain full attention from the experienced statistician who will guide you during practical exercises. We will go through many different research designs and choose the appropriate statistical test for analysis. At the end of the training, you will be able to bring your research data and make an analysis under the coach's supervision.

What will you obtain in this training?

  • The mind map of statistical tests that will show you which statistical test best fits your data

  • Hand-out materials of the theoretical part of the training

  • Step by step guide of statistical test application

  • A detailed description of the required assumptions of statistical tests and interpretation of results.

  • Examples of result presentation for scientific journals by using an appropriate reporting style (i.e., the APA style).

Software and hardware

During the training, we will use a free software program (JAMOVI https://www.jamovi.org/download.html ) and show that even simple free software is enough to make professional data analysis. The training will take the online format and require a computer with an internet connection and a microphone.
