PERSONALITY

While little is known about Lilith's personality, the "Story of Hell" book suggests that she is rebellious toward authoritarianism, as shown when she rejected Adam's control and degradation. Despite being sent to Hell and becoming a demon as punishment, she thrived as its queen and empowered her people. In addition, she was loving, as she deeply fell in love with Lucifer Morningstar and together they had a daughter, Charlie. Lilith was depicted as being a devoted mother to Charlie, deeply connected to her family, and she passed her dreams for Hell to her daughter.

However, the revelation that Lilith had been staying in Heaven for the previous seven years has put her personality and true feelings towards her family and Hell itself into question, as she apparently made a deal with Adam to stay there, seemingly relaxing on her lonesome on a beach while also deliberately declining all calls from Lucifer and Charlie.

As stated by her daughter, Lilith was a natural born leader, being able to remain calm and collected as everyone in Hell turned to her for leadership and guidance during times of crisis and not being as affected by the intense pressures of leadership as her daughter and husband are. Charlie noted that Lilith could be extremely single minded when she sets her mind to something, as she had the tendency of ignoring anything she deemed unimportant to achieving her goals when she is striving for something.

Because of her influence, Sinners in Hell admired her and cherished the idea of rebelling against Heaven's exterminations but, as Charlie mentioned in "Scream Rain," despite this, she may have only had peaceful and pacifistic intentions, only wishing to empower them so they can protect themselves and she had no desire to wage war or antagonize Heaven in any hostile manners.

BIOGRAPHY

From the dust of the Earth, Lilith and Adam were the first humans created by the angels, made to be equal to each other and reside in the Garden of Eden. However, Adam wanted total control over Lilith, but she refused to submit since they were meant to be equals and left him, falling in love with the clever angel Lucifer Morningstar who went to console her instead. Upon discovering that the other angels had made Adam a second wife in replacement of her ─ Eve ─ it had filled her with fury at first, but the two rebellious dreamers decided to share the magic of free will with the rest of humanity and offered her the Fruit of Knowledge. However, with this act, Lilith and Lucifer were punished for accidentally corrupting humanity, being sent to Hell as a punishment. 

The lovers worked together over the centuries on building up Hell and became known as the King and Queen of it. After centuries of many tried and failed attempts resulting in miscarriages and stillbirths being a part of Lilith's punishment for refusing to submit to Adam (and in turn, falling in love with someone else), she manages to give birth to her and Lucifer's daughter, Charlie, considering her their little miracle child. 

Finally managing to achieve having a child and working to empower sinners (and demons) in Hell up to an excellent level on par with Heaven, her life is once again interrupted with interference from Heaven. Hearing how they plan to start up Exterminations ─ a purging of Hell to prevent overpopulation and uprisings ─ it's the subject that causes strain between Lilith and Lucifer in their marriage. While they are in agreement with having Hellborns (like their daughter) being spared, they don't see eye to eye when it comes to Sinners (as Lilith is more in support of them, while Lucifer doesn't care about them at all.)

Fearing for her family's saftey, but also wanting to find a way to stop the Exterminations altogether, Lilith goes to approach the leader of the exorcists (her ex husband, Adam) to talk things out about it. After much arguing and going back and forth with each other, a deal is eventually struck between them; Lilith would agree to stay in Heaven in the Garden of Eden (finally agreeing to be obediant to Adam) and the Exterminations would still go on, but Hellborn's would be spared (especially Charlie and Lucifer for their safety.) The only catch is Lilith wouldn't be allowed anymore contact with her family, essentially disappearing without a word and eliminating any ways that Hell could get the upper hand with her out of the picture. 

7-8 years later, after Adam is killed by Niffty, the deal is broken and Lilith can contact her family and return back home.
