The Proxima Centauri star is a part of a triple star system, Alpha Centauri, which is a very rare naturally occurring phenomenon. Its cousin stars, Alpha Centauri A and Alpha Centauri B, are solar type stars and are separated by only 20 AU, where 1 AU (astronomical unit) equals the distance from the Earth to the Sun. Their more distant relative, our star Proxima Centauri, is separated from them 15,000 AU. Just like the Trappist 1 star, humanity’s new star is a red dwarf, a faint star that slowly fuses Hydrogen into Helium. Stars of this type (M 5.5 Ve) have a longer lifespan since they ‘use up’ their fuel more slowly.
Travelling to the planet Proxima B is greatly preferred by our travelers since it orbits the closest star to home, and takes approximately 3.3 years to arrive there due to our revolutionary rocket engines. In scientific terms, Proxima Centauri, the star, is 4.2 light years away from our Sun, but however it is 12% as massive and 0.15% as bright.
Proxima B is neither cold nor dark. It orbits very close to its faint parent star and receives almost the same amount of starlight as Earth does from the Sun. To your advantage, the stars not only radiate beautiful glistening glows but they'll leave you speechless at their formation and ability to provide light . To quantify, Proxima B orbits at a distance of 7 million kilometers. !THAT IS 12.087% THE DISTANCE FROM OUR SUN TO MERCURY!
Proxima B, whose name is not unintentional, is the most requested interstellar travelling destination due to its proximity to home and the abundance of natural resources that make it an attractive destination for your space vacation.
Proxima B has a mass of 1.3 times that of Earth and is in the heart of the “Goldilocks” zone of its parent star, meaning that there are liquid water pools on the surface. The gravity there is more like the one on Earth, however you would gain a couple of ‘pounds’ on Proxima Centauri B. but don't worry they're easy to lose once you get back!
Like Trappist 1D, is Proxima Centauri B tidally locked?
No. Although it was theorized that it might be, Proxima B is not tidally locked to its host star. It rotates 2 times every 3 orbits, like Mercury. One year on Proxima “lasts” (or rather one rotation lasts) 11.2 days.
The star Proxima Centauri has a different history than our Sun. In the early stage after its formation, its brightness fluctuated immensely, exposing Proxima Centauri B, our planet, to high ultraviolet radiation and heat, boiling the oceans and causing them to evaporate from the atmosphere into the vastness of space. However, fortunately, after this period of violent star activity, a good fraction of the oceans remained and condensed back on the surface of the planet, making it habitable and able to sustain human life.
THE BASE: THE MOST LUXURIOUS HOTEL EVER DESIGNED
We offer a living space of 250 m2 for you and your family equipped with the newest voice controlled home automation system and a free of charge service 24/7. Our hotel has 7 spa treatment centers, 6 gyms in each complex, big pools with bars, and much more.
Each day you will be able to leave the hotel and walk on the surface of Proxima Centauri B with our crew that ensures all safety at a maximum level.
This program is accessible to children and elderly, who do not have a cardiovascular condition and are able to pass the medical and fitness diagnostic exam.
It is our pleasure to provide you and your family the dream vacation in the vast reaches of spacetime.
Note:
This program from your perspective will take 1 year, however from the perspective of a person on Earth would take around 10 years. This is due to the hibernation chamber you will be placed in throughout your travels. The benefit: you would return 10 years younger than your friends into a more modernized society!
