Matt's Education

Matt earned a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Education from Concordia University @ Austin, Texas. He is also an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God.

Matt's Ministry Experiences

At the age of seven Matt was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit and then as a teenager answered the call to ministry. He has been serving in ministry for over 25 years in Austin, Texas. He has served in the capacity of Youth Pastor, Children's Pastor and Senior Pastor. He was also the Academic Dean at a local business college. It was there he discovered and sharpened his gifts in teaching and administration. He taught multiple business classes and oversaw a faculty of over twenty teachers. One year he was even awarded Teacher of the Year.  It was during this time that he also taught at ELITE Leadership Bible Institute, an eighteen month ministry and discipleship training school. He has taught and created the curriculum for eight Bible courses ranging from 18 to 27 hours in course content and instruction. In 2015 he authored and published “Ascending the Mountain of God”, a book written for believers hungry for a greater measure of God’s presence in their life. In 2017 he joined the teaching staff of One Day Academy as a Starting Points instructor.

Matt's Personal Life

Matt is married to his beautiful wife, Patti, and they have three beautiful adult daughters, Abigail, Makenzie and Georgia. Matt and Patti enjoy biking and walking the greenbelt, as well as traveling and going overseas for missions. He follows the Longhorn football team and can’t get within five miles of a Half-Price Bookstore or a Home Depot without stopping in to browse. When he’s not reading the Bible or a good book related to teaching or ministry you’ll likely find him in his garage or backyard working on a home improvement project.  His latest project is www.ThroughtheGospels.com.  A 50 day Bible reading program on the life of Christ.
