Important annoucement about the Stamford Parade 2022

“Having carefully considered the latest available information on the recent delays to the resurfacing of Red Lion Square, Stamford Kiwanis have sadly had to take the decision to cancel this year’s parade of floats that was due to take place on Saturday 2 July.

We had hoped that a solution could be found but, with no certainty of a safe route for the parade through Broad Street and The Square or a workable alternate route, we felt that it was only fair on the hundreds of members of our community preparing for the parade to give them as much notice as possible that the event has been cancelled. Kiwanis considered holding the event without the parade but, without the cornerstone of the parade through the Town Centre, we expect the attendance at the event to be significantly reduced.

Everyone involved in the event is being advised of the cancellation today. We look forward to seeing everyone next year.”
