Scoring

TARGET ARCHERY FACES

The faces in Target Archery come in a variety of sizes, 122cm, 80cm, 60cm and 40cm, but all of them are comprised of 5 colour bands (GOLD, RED, BLUE, BLACK and WHITE) each of which is divided into two zones, except for the Gold which is divided into three zones. There are two scoring systems, METRIC and ENGLISH.

FIELD ARCHERY FACES

The faces in Field Archery also come in a variety of sizes, 80cm, 60cm, 40cm and 20cm, but all of them are comprised of 2 colour bands (GOLD and BLACK). The Gold zone is divided into two zones, whilst the black is divided into four zones.

FIELD TARGET FACE

CLOUT ARCHERY

Clout archery does not use a conventional target face because of the size of the scoring zone.

This can either be marked on the ground or a non-stretch cord or tape can be used which is looped round the centre stick. There are five scoring zones, which varie is size depending on whether you are shooting an English or Metric Clout.

SCORE SHEETS

For every round you shoot you will need to complete a score sheet.

These can be found inside the clubhouse in the small steel cabinet. There are different sheets for Metric, English outdoor rounds, as well as Indoor rounds, Field rounds and Clout rounds, so make sure you select the correct one.

The score sheets have to be completed correctly with all the relevant information; if you fail to do this then the Records Officer will reject the sheet. This could mean you miss out on a classification; club record etc.; so please make sure the sheet is completed as shown in the appropriate example below.

Overview

Scores are placed in the boxes, one arrow value per box, working from left to right, top to bottom. The number of scoring arrows is totalled at the end of each dozen, together with the number of arrows recorded as Gold’s (English rounds), 10’s & X’s (Metric rounds), Spots (Field) and Clouts (Clout). All misses are to be recorded on the score sheet with an 'M'.

Completed score sheets are to be placed in the boxes provided next to entrance door.

EXAMPLE

Below are examples of how to fill out an Outdoor Target score sheet for both a Metric and an English round. The same principles apply to filling out all score sheets whether Target, Field or Clout.

If you are unsure how to complete a sheet ask either the Tournament Organiser or a Judge.
