An Easy Guide For Decorating Your Home With Flowers

Bringing Life and Color to Your Home

Decorating trends come and go. But interior decorators and home owners agree that one thing never goes out of style. What is it, you wonder? The answer is easy as pie: floral arrangements! Even the dullest room can look vibrant, full, and dynamic with ageless floral accents!

Fresh flowers provide a quick lift to any area. With the beauty of blooms, they can emphasize a room's design and little details. It's also the most effective way to raise your spirits! After all, what's more refreshing than coming home to bright and fragrant blooms? But looking for the right flowers with the right vases can be difficult. Different areas have different decor needs, and flowers can make or break the appeal of a room. Well, we're here to make the task easier! We've come up with a few tips that can help you beautify your home with lovely blooms - the right way!

Combine contrast and consistency

Remember one of the most crucial rules of decorating. Don't match, complement! Bear in mind that your home is still the star of the show, and the flowers are simply there to play a supporting role. Ensure that your florals don't drown your home. It's useful to establish texture and depth with your interior design. A great way to do this is by adding a slight hint of contrast while managing to keep your style consistent. Let's say your home has a more modern look. You can opt for a clean-lined, single-flower bouquet to keep its sleekness. But your selection of flower has to have daring colors with heavy petals to provide depth. Best blossoms for this include alliums, begonias, roses, or bulb flowers. You can also go for a rounded or patterned vase to contrast the hard lines and flatness of modern interiors. For antique homes, you can choose compact bouquets to match the richness of your interior. Go for arrangements with foliage and one-of-a-kind flowers.

Ideal blooms include irises, cherry blossoms, peace lilies, and blackthorn flowers. These add a hint of modern style while keeping your home's vintage look.

Create aesthetically pleasing color palettes

Start with the current style and prominent colors of your interior. Seek out color palettes that will suit the hues of your room. Get a sense of the visual harmony of your space! Right after this, you can start putting in complementary but varied colors. This will prevent your flowers from drowning in your room decor and wallpaper.

Let's say your home has a color scheme of subtle blues. You can go with brighter tones of blue or purple to create contrast while still preventing color clashing. You can also think about adding a bouquet with softer hues to a space with brightly-colored decor and wallpaper.

It's also essential to build your color palette with your interior style in mind! For instance, if you have more open spaces or a rustic interior, go with earth tones and soft neutrals. This will enhance the homey, lived-in feel of each room.

Take note of scents

It's not all about looks when it comes to blooms. You also need to consider how your bouquet's aroma will affect the scents in the area you're decorating! Here are the best floral scents for specific rooms in your home:

Dining room - Stay away from using flowers with strong fragrances at the dining table. Their strong aromas are more likely to disrupt your meals. Choose freesias or roses, which have muted scents. They add an elegant and fragrant touch to your table in a subtle way.

Bathroom - Flowers with exotic and vigorous scents are best for the bathroom! Gardenias and orchids are popular for their robust fragrances that can stave off awful smells. Even better, their standout look can bring in texture to flat spaces like bathrooms.

Bedroom - There are flowers with soothing scents that can help relax you into peaceful slumber! Lavenders and jasmine are good examples of these. If you suffer from insomnia or other sleep problems, these blossoms are best for you! Imagine sinking into your bed after a very long day and inhaling those cool, gentle scents!
