Satat Ātma Prerak: The Spirit of Self-Motivation and Persistence
Dear Readers,
Education is more than the pursuit of knowledge—it is a journey of awakening that shapes the intellect, refines the heart, and uplifts the spirit. At Salwan Public School, we believe that true learning encompasses not only academic excellence but also the nurturing of values, resilience, and self-responsibility.
This year, our guiding theme Satat Ātma Prerak inspires us to embrace the power of persistence and self-motivation. It reminds each learner to affirm: “I am a persistent self-motivator and believe in mindful progress.” This spirit of inner drive is what transforms challenges into opportunities and setbacks into renewed conviction.
Music, values, and reflection are the quiet forces that nurture this spirit. Through initiatives like Soulful Sunday and MFM: Music for Motivation, our students experience melodies that soothe the mind, uplift the heart, and awaken the spirit. Just as music heals, values such as honesty, kindness, courage, and self-respect guide us, becoming the invisible armour that protects our peace and strengthens our character. Reflection, too, plays a vital role—when learners pause to listen to their inner voice, they discover clarity, resilience, and a sense of purpose.
Student leadership further embodies this theme. Peer education, project-based learning, and council responsibilities are not just roles but opportunities to practice Swa Kartavabaddha (self-responsibility). Each responsibility nurtures Satat Ātma Prerak (self-motivation), guiding learners to persist with purpose and inspire themselves from within.
Persistence is not about never stumbling—it is about rising each time with courage. Self-motivation is not about external applause—it is about inner clarity and mindful progress. Together, they form the essence of Satat Ātma Prerak, shaping our students into thoughtful, ethical, and self-directed individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to the world.
Upon reflecting on this theme, I am reminded of a simple truth:
“Responsibility is the bridge between learning and becoming—the path that transforms knowledge into character, and potential into purpose.”
Let us continue to walk this bridge with conviction, nurturing self-motivated learners who persist with purpose and progress with mindfulness.
Blessings,
Ms. Rashmi Malik

"Elevate yourself through the power of your mind, and do not degrade yourself. For the self alone is both friend and enemy." — Bhagavad Gita 6.5
The theme “I am a persistent self-motivator and believe in mindful progress” resonates deeply with every initiative showcased in this edition. Whether it is cultural celebrations like Vismrit Krityan ’25, where forgotten art forms were rediscovered and reimagined, or leadership milestones such as the Investiture Ceremony, where responsibility was embraced with pride, each endeavour reflects resilience and inner conviction.
This magazine celebrates victories in inter-school competitions, state-level championships, and STREAM Fest innovations, where young minds envisioned a future of intelligent, energy-efficient living. It honours soulful assemblies, Gurpurab devotion, and the unity of voices singing Vande Mataram—all of which remind us that values and traditions are the quiet armour of the soul. Beyond achievements, this magazine is a testament to the purpose of education: to nurture curiosity, creativity, resilience, and responsibility.
It highlights how our learners are not passive recipients of instruction but self-directed individuals—capable of reflection, initiative, and mindful progress. From science fairs to career guidance, from excursions to cultural recitations, every experience documented here is a step toward shaping compassionate citizens and enlightened leaders.
The true value of this magazine lies not only in the stories it tells but in the inspiration it offers. It invites readers to witness how persistence fuels success, how self-motivation anchors growth, and how mindful progress transforms potential into purpose.
As you turn these pages, may you be inspired by the spirit of Satat Ātma Prerak—to think deeply, act ethically, and celebrate the harmony of tradition and innovation that defines our Salwan community.
“Let your values be your compass, your persistence be your strength, and your self-motivation be the light that guides your path.”

Beneath the waves bright colours gleam,
The ocean lived a wondrous dream.
With dolphin’s dance, and coral’s hue,
The sea held life forever new.
But storms of greed now cloud the sea,
The reefs grow pale, the fish grow thin,
The careless waste from you and me,
Has dimmed the glow that once had been.
The marine life is crying as creatures are dying,
Their homes destroyed by human hands.
No voice remains to make demands,
except the seas’ unending cry.
But, if humans try with thought and skill,
The oceans thrive, the reefs refill.
Our creativity can mend the sea,
And bring the waves to harmony.
Share knowledge, innovate, inspire,
Clean rivers first then seas entire.
When technology meets compassion too,
The marine life survives too.
So rise with strength, defend the blue!
The ocean calls, don’t turn away.
Hear the marine and problems too.
Rescue them, start today!
— Dhulipalla Aashwika, Grade 6
I wait.
In silence, I wait—
Not even dust dares to settle on me.
The wick that has dried longs for the touch of flame,
Even just a spark, and I’ll suffice.
I envy you.
You burn bright,
Your rose fills the air and brings a lovely aura,
While I’m just a decoration,
A cold shadow waiting for the blaze.
How sweet it must be
To ignite, burn, glow, and feel the heat—
To be the ember, to fade with purpose,
To be the catalyst of one’s touch.
Like the chrysanthemums that bloom in late autumn,
I wait—
Silent, patient, enduring.
I yearn to see,
Even if it’s only for a moment,
To feel the spark claim me
And burn me down to nothing.
Just once.
A surrender to heat I crave.
I would burn and fade—
Melt me down to the void.
What it’s like to matter?
— Akshara Waie, Grade X
With the busy digital world filled with the constant presence of screens, notifications, and unrestricted access to information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it makes sense that the continued increase in written materials has caused many people to assume that written material is obsolete and/or harmful. However, this perspective on written materials should not be so negative, since they have now become a genuine necessity because they help us continue to expand upon our imagination.
Reading profoundly develops the reader's imagination. Every time a person reads an article, essay or book, the person's mind will be constructing vivid mental images or intricate representations based on what the reader has just read. This clarity enhances readers' critical thinking abilities and cultivates their capacity to think at higher, more sophisticated levels. Additionally, when readers engage with written texts, they accumulate a richer vocabulary and improve their ability to communicate effectively, which will assist them in both their academic pursuits and day-to-day life.
Reading teaches readers patience and sustained concentration. Unlike the quick videos, impulsive text messages, and fleeting images that we encounter so frequently today, when a reader engages with a text, he or she must invest time in analysing and reflecting on what has been read. By taking advantage of this opportunity to slow down and contemplate before making assumptions, readers are able to gain a deeper and broader understanding of the topic and acquire more insight to help guide them through life. - Shrestha Dubey (Grade X)
