Nurturing Independent and Logical Thinkers:
The Need of the Hour
Independent and logical thinking is an indispensable pillar of intellectual and personal growth, equipping students with the confidence and clarity to navigate an increasingly intricate and unpredictable world. It fosters the ability to meticulously analyse situations, make well-reasoned and insightful decisions and approach challenges with a strategic and solution-oriented mindset rather than relying on passive memorization or external validation.
When students cultivate independent thought, they develop the courage to express their unique perspectives, challenge outdated and rigid conventions and engage in thought-provoking and meaningful discussions. Logical reasoning sharpens their ability to distinguish between credible facts and misleading information, nurturing a discerning and rational mindset that values accuracy and evidence-based conclusions.
As rightly said by A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, “Excellence is a continuous process and not an accident.”
This powerful thought perfectly reflects the essence of a growth mindset, where consistent effort and determination lead to meaningful progress.
Dear Students, being a strategist is not about always having the right answers; it is about asking the right questions-“What can I do differently? How can I improve? What strategy will help me move forward?” Such reflective thinking fosters confidence rooted in effort rather than outcome. It will teach you to value progress over perfection and effort over ease. You must try to transform yourself into true strategizers so that, as individuals you are ready to embrace challenges and believe in your potential. When you do so, then you will learn not just to succeed, but to grow and thrive in life.
Wishing all my students a joyful and successful beginning to the new academic session and hoping everyone strives to become thoughtful strategizers, ready to learn, grow and excel.
Ms. Rashmi Malik, Principal
Encouraging Effort, Inspiring Achievement
Albert Einstein once said, “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity”, and Walt Disney reminded us, “All our dreams can come true if we dare to pursue them.” These thoughts perfectly reflect the spirit of a growth mindset—where challenges are embraced, and possibilities are endless.
Growth is a conscious journey shaped by effort, introspection and the willingness to embrace change. This month, under the theme "Strategizers- Growth Mindset: Samvardhit Manovriti," our learners explored the true essence of evolving with purpose and positivity.
The campus resonated with enthusiasm as students actively participated in diverse experiences beyond the classroom. Special assemblies, including those on environmental awareness, provided a meaningful platform for students to express their ideas and demonstrate a sense of responsibility towards society.
Through educational excursions, learning extended into the real world, fostering curiosity, observation and a deeper understanding of concepts. These experiences encouraged students to connect knowledge with practical insights.
The felicitation ceremony marked a proud occasion, celebrating achievements and inspiring students to pursue excellence with dedication and consistency.
A range of interactive sessions further broadened students’ perspectives, nurturing critical thinking and confidence. The vibrant ‘No Bag Day’ activities added an element of joy and creativity, reinforcing the idea that learning can be both engaging and experiential.
The true value of this magazine lies not only in the stories it tells but in the inspiration it offers. It invites readers to witness how reflection shapes understanding, how adaptability strengthens resilience and how a willingness to move forward prepares the students to face future challenges with confidence and clarity. As you continue your journey, remember that growth is a continuous process. Keep believing in yourself, keep learning from your experiences, and never be afraid to embrace new opportunities, values that are always nurtured by the Salwan community.
"The future belongs to those who are ready to grow—and that future is yours."

Tiny Steps Towards a Greener Tomorrow
Freedom is the courage to speak the truth without fear.
A space where ideas stay bold, honest, and clear.
From Romesh Thapar, we learned a principle to keep?
Restrictions should protect the nation, not silence the free who speak.
Democracy breathes when its people stay awake.
When citizens question every decision leaders make.
It fuels science, art, debate, and moral reach.
For free, curious minds strengthen all that nations teach.
Censorship still shadows corners across our land,
And misinformation spreads faster than truth can stand.
Shreya Singhal cut vague digital chains apart,
Proving unclear laws can silence a nation’s heart.
Courage begins when even one voice resists,
When truth, under pressure, still survives and persists.
Like Siddique Kappan, detained yet firm in his speech,
Showing how justice fades when the free press is out of reach.
Freedom needs discipline, empathy, and care,
Just as Greta Thunberg answered nature’s silent tear.
Rights must protect safety, dignity, and peace,
For only mindful words let harmony increase.
This freedom is precious, powerful, and refined,
Is the heartbeat of a democratic, progressive mind.
Though limited for hate, harm, or security’s sake,
We must guard it dearly, for reckless words can deeply ache.
- D. Aashwika, Class VII
The jasmine flowers bloom in the morning’s light
The clouds above float in the sky
As light spring mists roll through the treetops high
The flowers perfume the misty air
As the first light shines on the fair leaves
The wind blows over the landscape nigh
The butterflies flutter in the air
As the bees are flying here and there
The sky is a hue of the brightest blue
The Sun shines above the clouds
The flowery meadows seem to rejoice in the breeze.
The light is coming from above the clouds
The green grass sways side to side
The birds fly high near the clouds
As the springtime brings light above all.
