Why the name Welcome? Is Welcome just for new parishioners?

No, Welcome is for all adult parishioners. We all want to feel a sense of connection, a sense of family, and a sense of home. We all long for a desire to feel welcome. This experience provides a community within our St. Stephen's parish that will help you grow in faith and engage with your parish in ways you never have before.

What can I expect during the Welcome weekend?

The substance of the weekend is the presentation of personal stories in which individuals share their faith with you. Group discussions and response are invited following each presentation. It includes opportunities for Scripture reading, Reconciliation, Eucharist and more.

Who conducts the weekend retreat?

The hosting Welcome team is comprised of parishioners who have attended previous weekends.

What are the start and end times?

The weekend begins at 8:00 am Saturday morning and concludes at 4:00 pm Sunday.

Who may attend?

Any Catholic adult (out of high school) who is a registered parishioner of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church may attend a Welcome weekend.

Where will I sleep?

Sleeping accommodations are in the St. Stephen's facilities. You are asked to bring your pillow, blankets or sleeping bag, and any toiletries you may require. Air mattresses will be provided.

What about meals?

Meals and snacks are provided by the Welcome team. If you have any special dietary needs, please let us know when you register.

What should I wear?

Casual and comfortable clothing is appropriate for the entire weekend.
