Sriram Sankaranarayanan is an Assistant Professor in the area of Operations Management at the Indian School of Business.
Sriram earned his B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur. He then completed his Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins University (with Prof Sauleh Siddiqui and Prof Amitabh Basu), followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Polytechnique Montréal under the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Data Science for Real-Time Decision-Making (with Prof. Andrea Lodi). Following that, he was an assistant professor at IIM Ahmedabad from December 2020 to May 2025.
His research focuses on two key areas:
Algorithm Development for Multi-Firm Interactions
Sriram develops algorithms to address challenges arising from interactions among multiple firms. His work spans designing algorithms for fair decision-making, solving Nash equilibria in non-cooperative games, and computing solutions for specialized cooperative games. This research involves creating both exact and approximate algorithms while delving into their computational complexity.
Game-Theoretic Modeling in Operations and Supply Chains
Sriram constructs game-theoretic models to analyze firm interactions in operational and supply chain contexts. His studies reveal unexpected firm behaviors under various scenarios and propose policies to enhance coordination or improve overall welfare in these systems.
Sriram’s contributions to research have been recognized with the Vidya Varidhi Educational Foundation (VVEF) Outstanding Researcher of the Year Award at IIM Ahmedabad in March 2024.
His email id is [firstname]_[lastname]@isb.edu.
