Welcome to the research group of Dr. Swapna Singha Rabha at Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Dr. Rabha has join the Chemical Engineering Department of Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2021 as an Assistant Professor. She has received her Doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi on “microscopic gas-liquid flows”. After her PhD, she did a couple of post-doctoral research at various international research laboratories and institutes like Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, Dresden, Germany, National Energy Technology Laboratory, Morgantown, USA and Imperial College London, United Kingdom, before returning to India and joining IIT Madras in 2021.
Dr. Rabha’s research interest lies in the multi-scale studies (both experimental and numerical) of multiphase flows covering from the fundamental study to industrial applications like slurry bubble column, carbon capture, gas-liquid phase mixing, adsorption by solid sorbents. She is also interested to look into the flow transport and mixing in permeable media for CO2 sequestration and groundwater contamination technologies.
