# Sproutly — Privacy Policy

Sproutly ("we", "the app") is a learning app for children ages 2–8. Protecting
children's privacy is our priority. This policy explains what the app does and

## The short version
- We do **not** require an account or sign-in.
- We do **not** show ads.
- We do **not** sell or share personal data.
- Your child's name and age stay **on your device**.
## Information stored on the device only
When a parent sets up a profile, the child's **first name** and **age** are saved
**locally on the device** to personalize the experience. This information is **not
transmitted to us or anyone else** and is removed if the app is uninstalled.
Learning progress (completed lessons, the garden) is also stored only on the device.
## Microphone
Some activities let a child **speak an answer**. This uses **on-device speech
recognition**. Audio is processed on the device and is **never recorded, stored,
or transmitted**. The microphone is used only during those activities.
## Content delivery
Images, animations and sounds are downloaded from our content delivery network
(Cloudflare). Like any internet request, this involves your device's **IP address**,
which is used solely to deliver the content and handled per Cloudflare's policies.
We do not use it to identify or track your child.
## Diagnostics (optional)
If enabled, the app may send **anonymous crash and error reports** (no names, no
personal data) to help us fix bugs and improve stability. This contains no
information that identifies your child.
## Children's privacy
Sproutly is designed for children and is intended to comply with the Children's
Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR for children. We do **not**
knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the name and age
never leave the device, no personal data is transmitted to us.
