Synopsis

Called “the funniest farce ever written,” Noises Off presents a manic menagerie of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop called "Nothing’s On". Doors slamming, on and offstage intrigue, and an errant herring all figure in the plot of this hilarious and classically comic play. Noises Off is an ingenious play within-a-play following the onstage and backstage exploits of a company of actors appearing in a dreadful bedroom farce called "Nothing On"—complete with mistaken identities, infidelities, scantily clad ladies, slamming doors and of course, sardines. The characters quickly find themselves in a backstage world that is quickly falling apart. Onstage and offstage worlds collide into one scandalously silly, fabulously funny nervous breakdown.
