Methods to fix Spotify error code 18

Though there are various methods to fix this issue, some common ones are discussed below:

End any Spotify processes still running in the background

· Launch Task manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.

· Go to the Processes tab.

· Scroll down through the list of processes and look for any processes with the name “Spotify”

· Once you find this process, right-click on each process one by one and click on End Process.

· To confirm the action, click on End process in the dialog box.

Delete the Spotify folder in the AppData directory of your computer

· Press the Windows key + R simultaneously to open a Run dialog.

· In the run dialog box, type %appdata% . Press Enter.

· The AppData directory will open in a fresh instance of Windows Explorer.

· Search for the Spotify folder in the AppData directory and right-click on it. Press Delete.

· Click on Yes to confirm the changes.

· Delete the Spotify folder.

Exit Steam and then try to install Spotify

· Open Steam.

· In the top-left side of the window, click on stream.

· Press Exit.

· Wait till the Steam closes completely.

· Now open the Spotify installer and try to install Spotify on your system. Solution 5: Uninstall any programs interfering with the Spotify installation

· Go to the Start Menu.

· Look for “add or remove programs”

· Select the search result named Add or remove programs.

· Scroll down through the list of programs installed on your computer, locate the program you think is hindering the installation of Spotify.

· Right-click on it and Uninstall it.

· Go through the wizard for uninstallation.

· After uninstallation, restart your computer.

· Run the Spotify installer. It should now work successfully.

· After successful installation of Spotify on your computer, reinstall the program that you have uninstalled.
