9. Provide detailed information along with your video. The first frame of the video should include your name, school, jersey number, position, graduation year and contact information. You can also add sport-specific measurements such as height, weight, etc.

The amount of digital videos being created is increasing exponentially, e.g., YouTube has reached the upload rate of 100 hours of video per minute. A great deal of this growth is due to the tremendous popularity of smartphones and ubiquitous Internet access. This means that amateur-user generated videos form the new trend in content generation. Thus, there is an immediate need for robust algorithms to automatically analyze and retrieve these videos. On the other hand, many computer vision problems are data-driven and the existence of representative and realistic datasets are necessary for developing robust algorithms. Therefore, we present a highly unconstrained dataset of sports videos, called Sport Videos in the Wild (SVW).

Whether you're trying to capture the crack of a bat hitting a homer or the swoosh of skis hitting the slopes, you'll want a camera that can record every moment. Though your smartphone is great in a pinch, a dedicated video camera can take your sports videos to the next level. You'll want to ensure your camera has high frame rate options to capture the action smoothly or add slow-motion flourishes. In-body image stabilization (IBIS) can also help if you're shooting handheld and want to minimize camera shake. Watch out for cameras with heavy rolling shutter distortion, which can be distracting if you find yourself panning the camera a lot. Of course, all that is moot if the camera's autofocus can't keep up with your subjects.

Below, you'll find our recommendations for the best cameras for sports videography, narrowed down from the more than 95 cameras we've bought and tested. If you're a sports vlogger, you can also look at our recommendations for the best cameras for vlogging or the best cameras for videography and filmmaking if you need something more advanced.

The Fujifilm X-H2S is the best camera for sports videography we've tested. This flagship model from Fujifilm is a video powerhouse with a stacked sensor that lets you capture quick panning shots with minimal rolling shutter effect. It's ideal for this kind of recording and offers plenty of frame rate and resolution options, with 6.2k video recording at up to 30 fps and uncropped 4k at up to 60 fps. There's even a dedicated slow-motion recording mode that records 4k / 120 fps, making this a super versatile camera for high-res action footage.

At the top of the list is its fantastic autofocus system. Sony cameras are known for their quick and accurate AF systems, and the ZV-E10 is no exception. It has a fully articulated screen to help shoot at different angles, a good battery life, and no recording time limit. Frame rates are limited compared to high-end options, but it can still record 4k video at 30 fps, with a slight crop, and 1080p video at up to 120 fps if you want to slow down the action. All in all, this is the best camera for sports videography at this price point.

You get up to 60 fps in 4k, and there's a dedicated slow-motion mode in 1080p for super slow-motion shots. On top of that, it has no recording time limit and solid battery life. Because it's a small-sensor camera, you won't get amazing video quality compared to the higher-end options mentioned above. If the thought of an all-in-one camera and gimbal combo sounds appealing, this is one of the best cameras for sports you can get.

Our recommendations above are what we think are currently the best cameras for sports video for most people to buy, according to their needs. We factor in the price, feedback from our visitors, and availability (no cameras that are difficult to find or almost out of stock in the U.S.).

The NFHS has teamed up with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to educate coaches, officials, parents and students on the importance of proper concussion recognition and management in high school sports. This course highlights the impact of sports-related concussion on athletes, teaches how to recognize a suspected concussion, and provides protocols to manage a suspected concussion with steps to help players return to play safely after a concussion. Each state's requirements for concussion management are included as part of the course.

RIATH AL-SAMARRAI AT ALEXANDRA PALACE: The future of darts might belong to Luke Littler, but the present is owned by Luke Humphries, world champion and smaller than no man across three fabulous weeks and one utterly absorbing final. For so long it had seemed the stars would line up in the favour of a 16-year-old phenomenon, the child prince of Alexandra Palace who is destined to be king. But sport, glorious sport, does not always work that way and nor does Humphries, the hottest player in this wonderful game and its greatest shredder of scripts.

The Video Journal of Sports Medicine (VJSM) is a global, peer-reviewed, open-access, online journal that publishes multimedia videos and complementary written material, covering a full spectrum of athlete care, from presurgical to rehabilitation and injury prevention. VJSM appeals to orthopaedic surgeons, sports physicians, athletic trainers, and physiotherapists specializing in sports medicine. Under the direction of Stephen F. Brockmeier, MD, Editor-in-Chief, the VJSM Editorial Board represents an international audience, and the journal collaborates with 19 partner societies.

Some schools already call playing video games a sport. More than 100 colleges in the United States have e-sports teams. At Roosevelt University in Illinois, the e-sports team is part of the athletics department. The players attend practice four days a week and can get scholarships for being on the team, just like other college athletes. Organizers for the Olympics are even considering adding e-sports in the near future.

Poor body positioning and techniques often contribute to sports injuries. These injuries can be detrimental to your career. When you analyse sport videos, you can identify techniques that can cause pain and injury.

This post explains why frame rate and shutter speed are so important when it comes to capturing sports video. Dig into the best frame rates you need to film athletics, what shutter speeds will film video correctly, and our top suggestions for other important camera settings you need for fast-moving subjects.

Check out this in-depth breakdown of frame rates from sports videographer Peter Sarellas. While we recommend 60 fps as the best frame rate to shoot sports videos in, Peter shows the pros and cons of using other frame rates in different sports scenarios:

This project aims to apply deep neural networks to classify video clips in applications used to streamline advertisements on the web. The system focuses on sport clips but can be expanded into other advertisement fields with lower accuracy and longer training times as a consequence. The main task was to find the neural network model best suited for classifying videos. To achieve this the field was researched and three network models were introduced to see how they could handle the videos. It was proposed that applying a recurrent LSTM structure at the end of an image classification network could make it well adapted to work with videos. The most popular image classification architectures are mostly convolutional neural networks and these structures are also the foundation of all three models. The results from the evaluation of the models as well as the research suggests that using a convolutional LSTM can bean efficient and powerful way of classifying videos. Further this project shows that by reducing the size of the input data with 25%, the training and evaluation time can be cut with around 50%. This comes at the cost of lower accuracy. However it is demonstrated that the performance loss can be compensated by considering more frames from the same videos during evaluation. 17dc91bb1f
