Spokane Manito is a Transition Group aimed at building a hyper-local community focused on local climate action and resilience.
Action that addresses climate change is urgently needed. As of October 2021, the IPCC suggested the 1.5C target set by the Paris agreement was "likely" to be exceeded [1]. Adapting to some effects of a warmer climate are already out of the hands of millions around the globe [2].
Spokane Manito is a group that aims to build climate resiliency and model alternative ways for localities to live sustainably.
We live in and around the South Hill neighborhood adjacent to Manito Park in Spokane, Washington.
