Split the Juice is the data controller responsible for your personal data. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, please contact us via the app or our social channels.
Account information: your name and email address, provided at registration.
Profile information: optional details such as phone number, location, surf experience level, stance, vehicle type, and profile photo.
Ride data: rides you offer, ride requests you submit, and messages associated with those requests.
Marketplace data: surfboard listings you post, including descriptions, photos, and contact details.
Ratings & reviews: scores and comments you give or receive from other members.
Payment data: subscription payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
Driver agreement records: your digital signature, date, and consent records when you sign the driver agreement.
Contract performance: to provide you with the platform services you have signed up for.
Legitimate interests: to operate and improve the platform, prevent fraud, and ensure community safety.
Consent: for optional marketing communications, which you may withdraw at any time.
Legal obligation: to retain records required by law (e.g. driver agreement records).
To create and manage your account.
To display your profile to other members of the community.
To facilitate ride-sharing arrangements between members.
To process your subscription payment via Stripe.
To send you essential service communications (e.g. ride request updates).
To send marketing communications if you have opted in.
To maintain records of driver agreements for legal compliance.
Other members: your name, profile photo, and relevant ride/listing details are visible to other registered members.
Stripe: payment data is shared with Stripe Inc. for subscription processing. Stripe is certified to PCI DSS Level 1.
Legal requirements: we may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Driver agreement records are retained for a minimum of 6 years for legal compliance. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure: request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
Right to restriction: request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
Right to withdraw consent: withdraw any consent you have given at any time.

We use only essential cookies required for the platform to function (e.g. authentication session). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Your data is stored within the UK/EEA. Where any third-party processors (such as Stripe) transfer data internationally, they do so under appropriate safeguards in compliance with UK GDPR.
