"Back to Basics" is the first episode of Battle for Nothing: The First Season, the canonical start of the first season. It released on May 1st, 2022. 1 year and 10 weeks after the last episode. However, it takes place July 28th, 2014.

"8 Years ago, preceding the events of the second season of Battle for Nothing, a regular object named Jade ditches his path of engineering to host his own reality show! Original, I know. Watch as Jade forces his friends and neighbors, Baggy, Lighty, Socky, Grippy, Scribble, Sticky, iPod, PAMA, Pizza, and Portal into death-defying situations, with the goal of returning back home and ensuring immunity for your team. In a contestant vote, the person who receives the most votes will leave the battle, as the remaining contestants continue to compete for the ultimate prize of nothing."
