Salvador Pérez-Moreno is Full Professor at the Department of APPLIED ECONOMICS-ECONOMIC POLICY at the University of Malaga, Research Associate at the Cambridge Centre for Economic and Public Policy, University of Cambridge, and Affiliated Researcher at UNU-MERIT, a joint research and training institute of United Nations University and Maastricht University.

He holds a Master’s degree in Development Finance from the University of London (SOAS) and a PhD in Economics from the University of Malaga (PhD Extraordinary Award).

Founder researcher of the research group Public Economics and Equity (SEJ-559) and member of different international research networks (EQUALITAS, ECINEQ, European Economic Association, etc.), he has been Visiting Researcher at a number of universities, among others, University of Cambridge, LSE and Maastricht University 

His research interests cover ECONOMICS OF POVERTY AND INEQUALITY and INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT, with specialisation in ECONOMIC POLICIES. The research results have led to numerous publications in high impact journal articles, books and chapters.

He has supervised six PhD theses (and another four in progress) and more than twenty Master’s dissertations. He has participated in more than 30 research projects and contracts, both at national and international levels, leading some research projects (Spanish Institute of Fiscal Studies, Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Regional Government of Andalusia, etc.) and a large number of research contracts, with Maastricht University, LSE Enterprise, CIFAL Network, UNICEF, OXFAM Intermon, Cáritas, ”la Caixa” Foundation, among others.

He has been academic coordinator of the Master’s programme in International Cooperation and Development Policies, and of the PhD programme in Economics and Business of the University of Malaga, joint PhD programme of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies and the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.
