SPELL BEE CONTEST


"Spelling helps to cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters."


The Spell Bee competition held at Nazareth Convent High  School was a resounding success, showcasing the linguistic prowess of our students which was organized on 7th February, 2024. This competition helped students to improve their spelling, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop the use of correct English. It was an inter-house competition, where students from grades V and VI  enthusiastically participated demonstrating their command over the English language. Organized by Mrs. Bina Menezes, Mrs. Briyanka Gonsalves, Mrs. Swejal Fereira, and Mrs.Chloris Lemos. This competition was witnessed by the Principal, Sr.Elizabeth Jaya Rani along with the  Vice-Principal,  Mrs.Carol Sequeira. Mrs. Ujwala D'cunha and Mrs.Monalisa Andrades handled the timer and  the scoreboard. 


This competition comprised of multiple rounds, induding Preliminary (individual) Round; First Come First Spell; Main Round and Rapid Fire Round. In each round, participants were challenged with a series of words ranging from common to more intricate vocabulary. The competition was conducted in a manner that encouraged active engagement and healthy competition among the students. After the intense competition,  Mrs.Carol Sequeira addressed the students, and the winners were announced by Sr. Elizabeth Jaya Rani. All the participants received recognition for their participation and effort. Overall it was an enriching experience for everyone involved, highlighting the importance of language proficiency in academic and personal development.
