SpeedReader is a reading app made by Tiny Pixel Workshop. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: SpeedReader does not collect, store or share any personal data.
What stays on your phone
Your books, reading positions, bookmarks, reading statistics and settings are stored only on your phone, inside the app. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. We have no servers and no way to see them.
No accounts, ads or tracking
SpeedReader has no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics. It does not use the advertising ID and does not track you across apps or websites.
When the app uses the internet
SpeedReader works offline. It only connects to the internet when you tap to download one of the free classic books. The book is then downloaded directly from Standard Ebooks (standardebooks.org). As with visiting any website, their server receives your device's internet (IP) address in order to send the file. SpeedReader does not send any other information. See the Standard Ebooks website for their own privacy policy.
The "Visit Standard Ebooks" button and the email link on the About screen open your web browser or email app, which then work under their own privacy policies.
Backups
If you use "Back up my library", SpeedReader creates a backup file and hands it to your phone's share menu. You choose where it goes, for example Google Drive or email. We never receive a copy.
Files you open
Books you import or open with SpeedReader are copied into the app's private storage so they can be read offline. They are not uploaded anywhere.
Crash reports
SpeedReader does not include any crash-reporting or analytics software. If you have chosen to share usage and diagnostics data with Google in your phone's settings, Google may send anonymous crash reports to the developer through Google Play. These are handled under Google's privacy policy.
Children
SpeedReader does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Because everything is on your phone, you are in control. Delete a book by long-pressing it in your library, or uninstall the app to remove everything.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
