Press the space button on your keyboard or click/touch the main timer until the green light indicates that the timer is ready to start. Release the key and press it again to stop the counter when you finished the solution. Add +2 or DNF penalties, according to official WCA regulations if necessary.

Choose to hide certain interface panels while the timer is running or hide the timer itself and reveal the result only when the timer has stopped. Set the program to clear the recorded results after every five measurements.

Simply touch the timer or press your Spacebar to start and stop! I'd recommend using 15 seconds inspection time, as that is what official Rubik's Cube competitions give you to look at the cube before starting your solve. And if we're going to care about official Rubik's Cube rules (who doesn't), then WCA regulation 4d1 says that cubes should be scrambled starting with the white face on top and the green face on the front.

Let's start with the white face. Try to form a plus sign on the top of the cube, matching the colors of the side stickers to the colors of the lateral centers. This step shouldn't be too hard, try to do this without reading the examples below.

Turn your cube upside down because we don't need to work with the white face anymore. We can insert an edge piece from the top-front position to the middle layer using a trick. Do the left or right algorithm depending on which side you have to insert the piece:

1. Hold the cube in your hand having an unsolved yellow corner in the highlighted top-right-front position.

2. Repeat the algorithm until this piece is solved.

3. Turn the top layer to bring another unsolved piece in the highlighted position.

4. Repeat R' D' R D until that one is also solved.

5. Do 3 and 4 for any other unsolved yellow corner.

Your solve times will be stored in the time log to the right using a cookie, so they'll still be there when you come back. You have the ability to clear the solve times individually, or all at once. Your average times will be automagically calculated. Note that the 3 of 5 and 10 of 12 averages throw out your highest and lowest times and only average what's left, just like in an official speedcubing competition.

You can keep your solve times separated by puzzle by using the "switch puzzle" link above the time log. You can also use the inspection timer with an optional sound cue to let you know when the timer starts. The scramble generator is provided as a means of ensuring you aren't being too easy on yourself.

to move the camera around the cube, place an empty in the centre of the cube, parent the camera to the empty, set the camera to be looking at the empty, and attach arrow key sensors to rotation of the empty.

In this instructable, I'm going to show you how to make your own speed stacks timer for solving Rubix cubes. This timer will be able to work with any Rubix cube (2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, megaminx, skewb, pyraminx, clock, etc). It will also work just like a speed stacks timer with one benefit, you won't need to enter your time into a speed cube timer website, it just basically acts as the space bar. First off, if you don't know how to solve any Rubix cube, then this timer may not be for you. However, you could use it for other things such as maybe timing yourself to build a puzzle. I hope to have an instructable about solving a Rubix cube in the future, but until then, you can just search for videos on YouTube.
