At Spectrum Book Publishers we create stories that reflect the beauty and uniqueness of neurodiversity. Founded by a former teacher in the Autism Spectrum, and a Mental Health Professional, our mission is to publish books for families in the Spectrum by a family in the Spectrum. Through this endeavor, we plan to equip families to better provide support for children with autism. With loveable characters influenced by real science and heartfelt storytelling, we aim to educate, inspire and empower - one book at a time.
Official front cover of Liam and the Loupes: Liam's Day Out.
Liam and his pack's first adventure is currently in Post-Production. Liam and his pack prepare for a day of adventure, joy, and fun. But those concepts do not sound so appealing to Liam, who depends on order, structure, and predictability to have fun. On World Autism Awareness Day 2026, join Liam and the Loupes as they all learn different ways to have fun that are appealing to neurotypical and neurodiverse folks alike.
Our Main Character
Liam Loupe is a curious elementary school grey wolf who sees the world in his own unique way - like many children in the Autism Spectrum do. He is the heart of our stories, helping our young readers explore emotions, relationships, and the beauty of being different.
Liam is not alone in his journey. He is part of a loving grey wolf pack - a pack of wolves each with their own strengths and challenges. Whether it is a sibling helping him stay grounded, a friend who teaches him new things, or an adult who understands and adjusts, Liam is learning everyone in his life is part of his journey.
This official design of Liam Loupe is the original work of our illustrator Shani. Please follow our journey as we unveil more characters as Liam makes his debut on April 2. 2026 in his debut book "Liam and the Loupes: Liam's Day Out".
Liam's Pack and Friends
Abby is Liam's sister and littermate. She is fierce, protective, strong, and is Liam's strongest support system. Unlike the rest of the pack, who each have a specific role in Liam's support system, her unique relationship with Liam allows her to be a constant in Liam's life. Although Abby is neurotypical or someone who is not in the spectrum, she provides a valuable perspective and approach to providing support to someone with autism. She also teaches us, that for someone with autism, support can come from the most unlikely places.
This rendition of Abby Loupe is the original work of our llustrator Shani, and it shows how Abby is loving and feisty at the same time. Meet Abby, Liam, and the rest of the pack on April 2, 2026 when "Liam and the Loupes: Liam's Day Out" launches.
Eddie is a fast-talking, fact-loving little raven with a brain that’s always buzzing.Eddie is autistic — just like Liam — but his autism looks a little different. He thinks in patterns, loves routines, and could talk for hours about things like space, storms, or how ravens use tools. He doesn’t always pick up on social cues, but he cares deeply — especially about Liam.
In nature, wolves and ravens sometimes form unlikely partnerships. Eddie and Liam? Just like that.Different minds. One unshakable friendship.
Bernie Loupe is Liam and Abby's father and the alpha male of the Loupe pack. Bernie represents the parent who tries their best, and is attempting to understand autism. With the help of Liam, Abby, and the rest of the pack they all come together to support Liam each their own way.
He often does not understand Liam, but that does not stop him from trying. Bernie is constantly trying to balance the pack and how they can all support Liam their own way. Bernie has trouble keeping up with appointments and remembering all the details, but he is active and keeps trying which makes him improve more on his support of Liam. He is anything but perfect, which makes him a great alpha wolf, as leadership is oftentimes imperfect.

Bonnie is Liam's mom and the alpha female of the Loupe pack. She is strong. She is protective. Loving. Fierce. But also tired. Overwhelmed and misunderstood. She still shows up. Every day. For her pups and for her pack. Bonnie is the mom who keeps going when no one is watching. She cries in private, smiles in public, and makes magic out of chaos. She is not perfect, she is unstoppable. Bonnie is you, spectrum mom.
Bonnie is always at the forefront of standing up for her pups, especially, Liam since he needs her support and advocacy. Bonnie will go through all lengths to ensure that all of Liam's needs are met, even when she does not completely understand everything regarding the spectrum. She is here. She is present. And she will be heard.

Tasha Loupe is a compassionate and patient sister who dedicates much of her time to supporting her brother, Liam. She has a natural gift for mindfulness and relaxation techniques, which she uses to help Liam manage his daily routines and emotions. Tasha often guides Liam through breathing exercises, gentle stretches, and calming activities that help him feel centered and focused. She’s also a hands-on helper with practical tasks—like assisting Liam during haircuts, helping him brush his teeth, and creating a predictable, comforting routine around these activities.
Tasha’s nurturing nature makes her a grounding presence in the Loupe family. She believes in the power of empathy and small moments of calm, and she always strives to make sure Liam feels safe, understood, and capable of doing things on his own.

Jack Loupe is the dependable, protective older sibling who takes his responsibility seriously. Every morning, he watches over the younger wolf pups as they walk to school, ensuring they stay safe and follow the path together. Jack has a strong sense of duty and looks out for everyone with quiet confidence and care. Beyond his protective nature, Jack also connects deeply with Liam through physical activity. He often joins Liam for outdoor exercises, such as light jogging, balance games, or obstacle courses that help Liam build coordination and confidence. Jack believes that movement is not just healthy for the body, but also a great way to strengthen bonds and release stress.
While he can seem serious at times, Jack has a warm, encouraging spirit and always cheers on his siblings. His calm strength and leadership make him a reliable anchor in the Loupe family.

Boris Loupe is the creative heart of the family—a lively, musical soul who brings warmth and rhythm into the Loupe household. He has a passion for playing instruments, often filling their home with the soothing sounds of guitar, piano, or flute. For Liam, Boris’s music is more than just entertainment—it’s a source of comfort. The melodies Boris plays help calm Liam’s mind, ease his sensory overload, and create a sense of peace.
Boris loves to experiment with sounds and often invites Liam to join in, letting him tap along or explore different tones. Through music, Boris and Liam share a quiet connection that doesn’t always need words.
Cheerful, imaginative, and deeply empathetic, Boris uses his talent not only to express himself but also to bring harmony—literally and figuratively—to his family.

Corey Decker is the editor behind our debut children’s book here at Spectrum Book Publishers, LLC. With a professional writing career that began in 2015, Corey brings years of experience in writing and editing.. When invited to join the project, Corey immediately saw the importance of the mission. “Autism is very common,” Corey says, “but the understanding of how to interact with those of us who have it is not.”
As someone on the autism spectrum himself, Corey brings both professional skill and personal insight. “It warms my heart to be able to be a part of this process,” he shares. “I think this will unite families by giving parents and children the tools to help those they love most.”
Corey’s thoughtful approach and editorial expertise have been instrumental in shaping the story. We’re excited to continue working with him as the series grows and reaches more families.
