SpeakWise – Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to SpeakWise, an AI-powered speech coach developed by PrashConfig Apps. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App. By using SpeakWise, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

a) Account Information

SpeakWise requires you to sign in with your Google account. When you sign in, we collect your name and email address via Google Sign-In. This information is used solely for account management and is stored securely through Firebase Authentication. We do not sell, share, or use your personal information for advertising.

b) Audio Data

SpeakWise requests access to your device's microphone to record your practice sessions, and allows you to select and upload pre-recorded audio files from your device. To provide high-quality transcription:

• Your recorded or uploaded audio is securely transmitted to Groq's Whisper API for speech-to-text processing.

• Once processed, the audio file is saved locally on your device so you can listen to it later in your History.

• We do not use your audio for advertising, nor do we store it on our own servers.

c) Transcripts & Session Data 

Your transcribed text and analysis results (grammar score, speech feedback, factual analysis) are generated and stored locally on your device. If you use the "Paste Transcript" feature, the pasted text is also processed locally and through AI APIs. If you are a "Max" tier subscriber, you have the option to securely back up (Cloud Sync) your transcripts and session reports to our Google Cloud Firestore database so they can be restored across your devices. If you are not a Max subscriber, or choose not to use Cloud Sync, this data is never stored on our servers. 

d) AI Analysis (Gemini API)

SpeakWise uses Google's Gemini API to provide feedback on your grammar and factual accuracy. When you tap "Analyze with AI":

• Your transcribed text (not audio) is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing.

• This data is handled in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

e) Usage & Streak Data (Cloud Synced)

To manage your monthly session and recording limits, we store anonymous usage statistics in Google Cloud Firestore, linked to your account. This includes:

• Number of AI sessions used per month.

• Total minutes of recording used per month.

• Your daily streak progress (current streak, longest streak, and last active date).

This data is synced across your devices and resets every 30 days with your subscription cycle. We do not store or sync your actual audio recordings to the cloud. Unless you are a Max subscriber utilizing the optional Cloud Sync feature, we also do not store your transcripts or analysis results to the cloud — only the numeric usage counts described above.

f) Subscription Information

SpeakWise offers optional paid subscriptions (Mini, Pro, Ultra, and Max) managed through Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat may collect anonymized purchase data. We do not have access to your payment details such as credit card numbers. 

3. Permissions We Request

• RECORD_AUDIO: To record your speech sessions.

• INTERNET: To send audio to the Groq API for transcription, to send transcripts to the Gemini API for AI analysis, and to sync usage data with your account.

• READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE & WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To save generated AI Analysis PDF Reports locally to your device's Downloads folder. 

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data solely to:

• Authenticate your identity and manage your account.

• Provide accurate speech-to-text transcription.

• Deliver real-time grammar and factual analysis.

• Track your monthly usage limits across devices.

• Display your past recordings and transcripts within the app's History feature.

We do not:

• Sell your data to third parties.

• Use your audio or transcripts for advertising.

• Store your audio recordings on our servers. (Transcript content is only stored if you explicitly use the Max tier Cloud Sync feature).

• Share your recorded content outside the app (unless you export/share it yourself).

5. Advertising

SpeakWise uses Google AdMob to display rewarded video ads for Free and Mini-tier users, which allow users to unlock additional sessions. Premium subscribers (Pro and Ultra) enjoy a completely ad-free experience. AdMob may collect and use your device's Advertising ID, IP address, and interaction data to provide and measure these advertisements. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's privacy settings.

6. Data Storage & Retention

All session data (including audio recordings, transcripts, scores, and generated PDF reports) is stored locally on your device. You can delete individual sessions from the History screen or clear all history at once. Uninstalling the app will permanently remove all locally stored data.

Cloud Data: Your anonymous usage statistics (session count and minutes used per month) and your daily streak progress are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, linked to your Firebase account. If you are a Max subscriber, your session history (transcripts and reports) may also be securely stored in Firestore if you utilize the Cloud Backup feature. Audio recordings are never stored in the cloud.

7. Account Deletion & Data Removal

 You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time:

• In-App: Go to Settings → Delete Account. This instantly deletes your Firebase account, all cloud-stored usage data from Firestore, and all locally saved sessions.

• Via Request: If you have already uninstalled the app, you can request account deletion by submitting a request through our Account Deletion Form (linked on our Google Play Store listing) or by emailing us at 

• prashconfigapps@gmail.com.

Upon account deletion, the following data is permanently removed:

• Your Firebase Authentication account (name and email).

• All Firestore usage and streak documents, as well as any Cloud Synced session history, linked to your account.

• All locally stored sessions, recordings, and analysis results (if deleting from within the app).

8. Third-Party Services

SpeakWise integrates with the following third-party services:

• Groq API: Used for Whisper speech-to-text transcription of your audio. Privacy Policy

• Google Gemini API: Used for AI analysis of your transcribed text. Privacy Policy

• Google AdMob: Used to serve rewarded advertisements to free-tier users. Privacy Policy

• Firebase Authentication: Used for Google Sign-In account management. Privacy Policy

• Google Cloud Firestore: Used to store and sync anonymous usage statistics. Privacy Policy

• RevenueCat: Used to manage and verify subscription status. Privacy Policy

9. Children's Privacy

SpeakWise is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us to have their data removed.

10. Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect the data processed by our App, including:

• Using secure HTTPS connections for all API communications.

• Enforcing Firebase Security Rules to ensure users can only access their own data.

• Requiring re-authentication before account deletion.

Since primary session data is stored locally on your device, your data security is also dependent on your device's security settings.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
