Speak Up Contest 2020
The 8th Annual SpeakUp Contest by SR Mosaic
Thank you for registering your kids for the Speak Up Prelims contest.
Amid concerns of Coronavirus, we are postponing the prelims event until further notice. Depending on how things improve, we will keep you updated of the new date.
For parents who have paid your registration fee, in case your child is not able to make it for the contest on the new date, your fee will be refunded.
In the meantime, to keep the moment going, we encourage both adults and kids to participate in "Spoken Words" - where in one can post a video of you or your child narrating a poem, or post a written poem or story telling of your positive thoughts, on the Blaze Literary fest Face book page that we shall share details soon. That way, kids can build confidence practicing before the actual main event.
We appreciate your patience. Thanks for understanding!!
Speak Up Contests have been a buzzing attraction for residents in a few townships in the last couple of years. The contests have helped the participants to develop their public speaking skills and shed their inhibitions on getting on the stage.
In its 8th year, the contests are taking a great leap forward in a new direction. This year, we are opening the Speak Up Contest to a wider new audience and participants. At the same time, this year, we are organizing the Speak Up Contest as part of the literary and art event, “BLAZE”, with a vision to grow it further.
The past participants have really developed their skills and have polished multiple aspects – diction, speech, content, memorization and presentation on the stage. The speech and debate topics are very carefully chosen to help the think about the current affairs and the socio-economic issues from their perspectives. Overall, it is helping develop an all-round personality of the students.
The prelims will be conducted at the Dutch Neck church on two different weekends. The selected participants will participate in the finals on the day of the Blaze event to compete against one another.
- Top contestants in each group categories will be selected for the Finals.
