The First Workshop on Security and Privacy on Blockchain for Big Data Applications (SPB 2019)
In conjunction with 2019 IEEE International Conference on Big Data, Dec 9-12, Los Angeles, CA
Introduction to Workshop
Blockchain has recently attracted intensive attention from both academia and industry, and served as the foundation for various data-driven applications and services. It is a distributed, decentralized, public ledger, and offers a novel solution to storing information, enabling collaborations, establishing trust in a decentralized environment. However, the security and privacy of blockchain have raised many concerns when we deploy blockchain in different big data applications such as cyber-physical systems, healthcare, Internet of Things, communications, distributed networks.
Particularly, in the big data era, huge amounts of data need to be stored and analyzed. Most often such big data is geographically distributed. How to collect and mine data in a distributed, effective, secure, and privacy-preserving fashion is really a challenging problem. Blockchain emerges as a promising technology to provide a decentralized platform to facilitate distributed data storage, mining, and learning, and in the meantime raises serious concerns about security and privacy.
This workshop aims to provide an exciting platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners from academia and industry to present the latest advances, exchange ideas, and spur further innovations on the security and privacy on blockchain.
