Effective Date: April 28, 2026
Thank you for choosing to use the "Spark - Content Engine" Chrome Extension ("Spark", "we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it when you use our Chrome Extension.
To provide our core functionality of generating social media posts and summaries, Spark requires access to the active tab in your browser.
Active Tab Content: When you click "Extract Page Content", the extension reads the text content of the webpage you are currently viewing.
Purpose of Collection: This text data is collected strictly to be processed by an external Large Language Model (Groq API) to generate your requested content (LinkedIn posts, Twitter posts, Summaries, or Infographics).
No Background Tracking: We do not track your browsing history, monitor your active tabs in the background, or collect data from pages where you have not explicitly clicked the extract button.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or browsing data to any third parties.
Groq API: The text extracted from your active tab is sent securely to Groq (our AI provider) solely for the purpose of generating your content. Groq processes this data in accordance with their own strict privacy and security policies, and the data is not used to train their public AI models.
Stripe: If you choose to upgrade to our Pro version, payment processing is handled entirely and securely by Stripe. Spark does not process, view, or store your credit card information.
Spark is designed to be privacy-first.
Local Storage: Your generation history, preferences (like tone and language), and license keys are stored locally on your own device using Chrome's local storage. We do not maintain external databases of our users.
No Server Retention: The text extracted from your active tab is processed in real-time. We do not store or retain the content of the articles you extract on any external servers owned by us.
Spark requires the following permissions to function:
activeTab: Allows the extension to read the text of the specific webpage you are viewing only when you explicitly interact with the extension.
storage: Allows the extension to save your user preferences (like your Pro license key and remaining free generations) locally on your device.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
If you have questions or comments about this Privacy Policy, please contact the developer via the support link provided on our Chrome Web Store page.
