¡Hola Amigos!

My name is Viviana Alvarado-Gomez. I have been teaching for over 10 years and this is my 6th year teaching Spanish 2 and 3 at TPHS. ¡Vamos Halcones! I was born and raised in Costa Rica and after I graduated from college I decided to study and work abroad. I took English classes in High School, just like you are taking Spanish as a second language, and since then I became fascinated with different languages and cultures. My journey to bilingualism has taken me to many beautiful places, I have made lifelong friendships, and I have learned a lot about myself and how to be a better human being.

I am passionate about teaching Spanish, sharing about my culture and learning about yours. I love using technology in the classroom, and enjoy making art, especially painting.

I want to help my students fall in love with the beauty and richness of the Spanish culture. As a second language learner I understand the hard work that it takes to learn a new language and my number one goal is to provide you with the tools you will need to succeed.

I am extremely excited to be your teacher this year. I will be out on maternity leave for a few months and Adam Thompson will be your teacher until I return. We are both working together to make sure you have a wonderful learning experience this year. I absolutely enjoy working with amazing professionals, caring families, hard working students, and getting to know new people every year. I am looking forward to working with you.

Please don't hesitate to contact me at viviana.alvaradogomez@sduhsd.net if you have any questions.

Have a great school year! ¡PURA VIDA!
