Katie Phillips

Hi! I’m Katie, the lead Outdoor Living Stylist at Spade & Sparrow Designs. I have always loved being outside in nature, as well as finding ways to bring nature inside. These things became even more important to me as my family grew and we began spending more time in our home. I longed for my home to be a beautiful refuge from the world around me. I see the outdoor spaces of my home as an extension of our living space that deserves as much love and attention as the interior.

Over the years that passion has evolved into helping others turn their homes into spaces that they truly love to return to as well. At Spade & Sparrow, we believe that the elements are a source of healing for the body and the soul. Fresh air revives us and water restores. Digging our hands into the rich earth connects us to something larger than ourselves and sparks creativity.

Life can be so very busy and overwhelming, but creating a home doesn’t have to be. Our goal is to help you imagine your home as a place that is as well thought out and functional as it is warm and inviting, and then bring that vision to life. Whether you are looking to style your outdoor space to entertain guests and loved ones, or you want a secret garden to hide away from it all, we can make your dreams a reality.

Krystol O'Rourke

My goal is to make unwinding as effortless as possible. I'm a physician by training, and have worked in primary care and urgent care for over 20 years. I know what it's like to come home from a busy day wanting to relax, but being bogged down with the chore of creating an environment in which to de-stress.

I recognize the physical and mental benefit of getting outside into the fresh air and sunshine, experiencing plant life, experiencing wildlife, and breathing in the scent of beautiful flowers and foliage.

We decided to create Spade & Sparrow so that your transition between work and leisure is seamless.

I thrive on creating spaces within nature for others to enjoy. If I've done my job well, you'll come home to welcoming container plantings at your front door, and a garden where you can wander amongst the plants, daydream in a hammock, or visit with friends around the fire pit- all in the comfort of your own property.
