JRC Office
This office for a food and beverage packaging company was done as a quick retro-fit in 2 weeks. Designed as an insert of 350 sft in a 1000 sft warehouse and production space, the concept was to keep it modular and as visually connected as possible with enough privacy from the rest of the area.
The development plan (L) shows the bifurcation of the space into the office and work areas, the animation depicts the modular partition building up as well as the treatment of remaining space. The module (R) is a simple framework of lightweight slotted angle frames in sizes of 2 ft/3ft width from ceiling to floor high, detailed as shown.
The office distinguishes from the common entry via a router cut logo signage (more on this below), polished to a raw look. The shelves were integral to the product display system and positioned such that a prospective client could browse through them on a visit to the office.
The office has a sizable cabin so as to help collaboration with sales staff, take meetings with clients and to be used as a work-space for the head of the company. The room also has views to the work floor outside, so the boss can monitor the progress from inside the room.
Visual porosity was one of the main tenets of the design, to keep the space large and to enable monitoring and supervision of workers from the office spaces. The textural and light quality from the poly-carbonate sheets is evident in the pictures above.
The most rewarding experience of our work is getting to share the pride and joy with the clients, more so when it happens to be a dear friend and self-made entrepreneur.
