Welcome! My name is Soyoung Kim, and I usually go by "Soyoung". I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center of Research and Education in Program Evaluation, University of Tokyo.
My research interests include development economics, empirical microeconomics, and causal inference. Topics pertaining to poverty and development spark enthusiasm in me, especially about human capital in developing countries.
I have ongoing projects to assess how the legacy of conflicts affects educational investment and physical safety in Cambodia and how large-scale infrastructures have transformed occupational dynamics and human capital accumulation in agrarian villages of the Philippines.
Outside of work, I like jogging, baking, and playing the piano.
You can find my CV here.
